Cold embedding accessories are the core supporting tools and materials used in conjunction with cold embedding resin to complete sample embedding. Their main function is to protect fragile/porous/small samples, facilitate grip and grinding, ensure sample accuracy, and achieve high-quality metallographic samples without the need for heating or pressure. They can be cured at room temperature.

1. Inlay mold (injection mold cup)
Material and Type:
Silicone soft mold: Made of blue elastic material, easy to demold, reusable, compatible with acrylic/epoxy resin
POM hard mold: white high hardness plastic with bottom cover, stable size, suitable for high-precision requirements
Special molds: rectangular soft mold (suitable for PCB/SMT samples), flange mold (FlangeForm, used for circuit board processing)
Common specifications: Round, Φ 20/25/30/32/40/50.8mm; Rectangular shapes such as 70 × 40 × 22mm, 100 × 50 × 22mm, etc
Key requirement: The size should match the fixture of the automatic grinding machine to avoid contaminating the sample
2. Cold inlay material (main material)
Acrylic resin: ratio 1:0.8, fast curing (10-60 minutes), high transparency, suitable for conventional samples
Epoxy resin: 2:1 ratio, high hardness, wear-resistant, curing time of 40 minutes to 6 hours, suitable for high demand samples
UV curable resin: Fast curing after 60 seconds of UV irradiation, high efficiency, suitable for unmanned production lines
