Common materials

Thermosetting resin:
Phenolic resin: Low cost, diverse colors, fast curing, suitable for rapid sample preparation.
Epoxy resin: Strong edge retention ability, corrosion resistance, suitable for coating or precision samples.
Dipropyl phthalate: Good edge retention and chemical resistance, but slightly lower shrinkage and hardness than epoxy resin.
Thermoplastic resin:
Acrylic resin: high transparency, suitable for observing the internal structure of samples.
Polystyrene: Low cost, but poor chemical resistance.
Functional fillers:
Mineral powder and glass fiber powder: improve hardness.
Copper powder and graphite: increase conductivity (such as scanning electron microscopy samples).
