How to use polishing agent
Preparation:
Thoroughly clean the surface of the polished object: Taking the car paint surface as an example, it is necessary to use a professional car cleaner to thoroughly clean the dust, mud, and other impurities on the surface of the car body, ensuring that the car body is spotless. Then let it air dry naturally or wipe it dry with a clean towel. If this step is not carried out, impurities may cause new scratches during the subsequent polishing process.
Choose the right polishing agent based on the material and condition: Suitable polishing agents need to be selected for different types of object surfaces and different problems. For example, if there is slight oxidation and scratches on the car paint surface, abrasive polishing agents are a good choice; If you want to restore the original luster of the car paint, a reducing polishing agent is more suitable; When pursuing ultimate brightness, brightening polishing agents are a better choice.
Prepare tools: For small-scale polishing, a polishing sponge can be used, while for large-scale polishing, a polishing machine is required. Meanwhile, the wool disc has strong cutting force and is suitable for removing deeper scratches; Sponge discs are relatively soft and more suitable for fine polishing and restoring the gloss of car paint.
Operation process:
Choose a suitable environment: Avoid using polishing agents in high temperature, humidity, and direct sunlight, and operate at room temperature between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius. Taking cars as an example, the vehicle should be parked in a cool and ventilated place to prevent direct sunlight from drying out the polishing agent too quickly and affecting the effect.
Small scale trial first: Before formal operation, it is necessary to conduct a trial in an inconspicuous part of the object, such as the inside of a car door, carefully observe whether there are any abnormal reactions, such as paint discoloration, corrosion, etc. After confirming that there are no problems, start the formal polishing process.
Evenly apply polishing agent: Apply an appropriate amount of polishing agent evenly onto a wool or sponge disc. If using a polishing machine, apply the polishing agent evenly on the disc, start the polishing machine, and adjust the speed to around 1200-1500 revolutions per minute. This speed range can ensure the polishing effect and efficiency.
Smooth polishing: smoothly advance in a straight or spiral line, maintaining a uniform rhythm. The straight line method can ensure consistent polishing direction, while the spiral line method can cover the surface of the object more comprehensively. Regardless of the method, it is important to maintain moderate force to avoid damaging the surface of the object with excessive force and achieving the desired polishing effect with insufficient force. At the same time, during the operation, it is necessary to maintain the smooth movement of the polishing machine and avoid staying in the same position for too long, otherwise it may cause local temperature to be too high and damage the surface of the object. Each polishing time should not exceed 2 seconds.
Closing work:
Wipe off residue: After polishing, use a clean and soft towel to carefully wipe off any remaining polishing agent, especially in areas such as gaps and corners that are easily overlooked, to ensure that there are no residual stains on the surface of the object.
Check the polishing area: Carefully inspect the polishing area to see if there are any omissions or areas that have not been polished properly. If any defects are found, they can be polished again.
Applying protective agent: In order to further protect the surface of the object, products such as car wax or glaze can be applied for care according to the situation, extending the retention time of the polishing effect.
